Fresh Paint: First Place Phoenix

First Place Phoenix opened its doors to its new $15.4 million, 81,000 square feet independent housing development in September of 2018. This unique independent living community specifically caters to supporting adults with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and more.  The project was a collaborative design process spearheaded by the owner, Denise Resnik, and ESD was heavily involved in the design approaches. Some distinctive designs included enhanced security features, a 24/7 staff, sound barriers blocking out street sounds, nontoxic materials and special lighting to mitigate sensory issues. The 55 modern apartments also include convenient “grab and go” stations where residents can charge their phones and utilize high-end kitchen appliances. ESD places First Place in the category of “more than just a building” and was thrilled to work on a project where the end result enriches the community in more ways than one.
